Understanding Our Spring Water

Our free flowing organic spring water naturally flows from a spring under a very large sandstone rock located in the hill across the creek from the original water kiosk in Ohio as long as anyone can remember. We do not use boreholes (wells that are drilled next to a spring) that large bottled spring water manufacturers need due the large quantities of water needed.

Just below the Spring is a building called the Spring House where the water is stored in large tanks then comes underground in pipes into the building called the water kiosk where you can fill your own jugs yourself using quarters. The water is filtered using one micron absolute filters and disinfected with an ultraviolet light just before it enters your bottle.  The spring water does not have any chemicals added, such as chlorine or ozone to disinfect your bottle so there aren’t any disinfection byproducts produced, so you must make sure your bottles are clean.

How is our spring water is different from bottled spring water? Our water is 100% natural just as it comes from the spring, bottled spring water may not be.  Bottled unintentionally removes the colloidal minerals and other natural chemicals in the water from the topsoil  and also adds unregulated ozone disinfection byproducts. The clay is not dissolved but are microscopic particles called colloids.

Clay colloids are very small particles less than one micron in size (one micron is 0.000039 inches), which is smaller than the size of bacteria (2 microns). These colloids are made of silica, calcium, and magnesium. They are flat plates with large surface areas. The surface area of a stack of colloidal minerals compared to a grain of sand of the same weight would be over 10,000 times greater. The large surface area is negatively charged and attracts minerals and nutrients like a magnet. Without colloidal minerals, plants could not survive. Although you can’t see these colloids, they are in our spring water. If you want to know if your water has colloids, add a very small amount of salt to the water. If they are there, the salt will cause the colloids to stick together, large enough for you to see.

Organic spring water also has traces of other natural chemicals and enzymes from plants, mushrooms and other organisms in the topsoil. Well water, which is deeper, normally doesn’t have these natural chemicals or colloids.

If we were to sell our water in a store as bottled spring water, we would also unintentionally remove these colloidal minerals and traces of natural chemicals , which are a natural part of the spring water that human beings have drank for millions of years and evolved  from.  You can buy and add colloids to your water but not the traces of natural earth chemicals, but with our spring water you get both, naturally. The only way that we can provide 100% organic free flowing spring water  is to let you fill your own jugs.

Our promise to you:  We will provide only free flowing, organic water from our spring. We will add no chemicals nor remove any minerals and will lab test it annually for your assurance.

Water experts would have you believe that pure water is the best for animals and plants, yet recent research on certain clays (google clay, Arizona State University) have shown certain clays actually can kill the MRSA bacteria, but they do not understand how and clay is naturally found in our spring water. Could it be that the clay and fine sediment in natural spring water can actually be healthful?  It sort of makes sense since the beginning of time animals and plants on this planet have always drank spring water. Not well water or pure water, but spring water. Spring water contains not only dissolved minerals but also clay and other fine sediment particles not found in well water or public water systems.
